Description
What type of wine it is
Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Popoli from Valle Reale is a still white wine of remarkable elegance, a pure expression of Trebbiano. Belonging to the renowned Trebbiano d’Abruzzo designation, this wine stands out for its bright straw-yellow colour, enhanced by golden reflections. Its essence combines a vital freshness with a well-defined structure, offering a dynamic and engaging tasting experience. On the palate, it is refined and soft, characterised by an energetic sapidity that accompanies the sip towards a long and clean finish, where clear citrus notes re-emerge.
Where it comes from
The roots of this white wine are found in Popoli, in the beating heart of Abruzzo, an area highly suited to viticulture. The vineyards stretch across an altitude of between 350 and 400 metres above sea level, an ideal climatic condition for preserving the grapes' natural acidity. The vines grow on soils rich in skeleton (stony fragments) and with a limited presence of clay, geological peculiarities that are reflected directly in the glass. These characteristics give the wine its marked minerality and a flavour profile deeply linked to the Abruzzo territory, capable of providing complexity and character.
How it is produced
The vinification process enhances the potential of Trebbiano through the rigorous principles of biodynamic agriculture, ensuring an approach that respects the ecosystem and the identity of the fruit.

This gives rise to original wines, a faithful imprint of terroir and cultivated varieties, exclusively traditional. Six labels presented this year, of which as many as five really distance themselves by a whisker and which sees the return of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Vigneto Sant’Eusanio.
The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Vigneto di Popoli, on the other hand, lends itself and places itself on the podium, with its ample and complex bouquet and clean, warm and persistent taste. Great absentees this year Il Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Vigna del Convento di Capestrano 2016, not produced due to the violent frost suffered in April of that year, and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo San Calisto, whose grapes did not reach the phenolic maturity desired again because of frosts and that we will find again with the 2015 vintage in the next editions of the Guide.
