Description
What type of wine it is
Torre Rosazza Sauvignon Friuli Grave is a still white wine that expresses the qualities of the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety within the Friuli Grave denomination. With a pale straw yellow colour, it reveals aromas of linden, grapefruit, boxwood and tomato leaf. On the palate, it is distinctly aromatic, with a vibrant freshness and excellent persistence. The sip ends with a clear mineral finish, defining the perfect balance of the taste structure.
Where it comes from
The vines grow in the Friuli Grave area, near Oleis di Manzano. The vineyards, managed according to organic and sustainable criteria, are situated between 160 and 170 metres above sea level. Trained using the Guyot system, the plants maintain balanced yields to encourage aromatic concentration. The soil is distinguished by the presence of Eocene marl, a fundamental geological factor that guarantees a deep nutritional intake and produces a wine with a clear savoury character, faithful to its territorial identity.
How it is produced
The grapes, harvested by hand, undergo a brief cryomaceration to protect the fragrance of the primary aromas. After soft pressing, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, outlining a precise and clean profile. Ageing on the lees for approximately six months, also conducted in steel, precedes the final rest in the cellar. This production process preserves natural freshness, broadens the depth of flavour and prolongs the elegant persistence.

In the Colli Orientali del Friuli, and especially in Torre Rosazza, the growing of grapevines has a very ancient history. Already known in Roman times, grapes were also grown in the Middle Ages, along with other crops such as olives and grains. In those years, wine was a commodity or a bargaining chip that demonstrated a family’s wealth.
Noble elegance. The history of Torre Rosazza has been tied to the Antonini family, part of the Udine nobility, since the 1600s. Already the lords of the agricultural estate, the Antonini restored the medieval tower and built the villa that became their home in the hills: Turris Rosacea.
After the Antonini, Torre Rosazza passed to the De Marchi family. But more than any other event, the biggest mark on its history was left by the two World Wars. After the Battle of Caporetto, the estate came under Austrian control before returning to Italy at the end of the war. During the World War II it was the scene of fighting between the German occupation army and the Italian Resistance. Read more
