Description
Type of wine
Pinot Grigio Ramato by Le Vigne di Zamò is an organic still white wine with a Controlled Designation of Origin from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, featuring a brilliant copper hue. This style translates into a dry, full-bodied sip, enhanced by a slightly tannic texture. On the nose, it reveals clear notes of pink grapefruit, white peach and exotic fruit, combined with elegant hints of rose petals. Resting on the lees enriches the profile with aromas of bread crust, fused with a savoury freshness that perfectly balances the power of the sip. Its solid structure makes it ideal for pairing with raw seafood and shellfish dishes.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali. The Pinot Grigio grapes grow on the hills of Manzano, an area historically suited to expressions of great aromatic clarity. The commitment to organic farming and meticulous manual management of the vine rows ensures healthy fruit, harvested at the end of summer.
How it is produced
The production process involves cold maceration on the skins for one night, an essential step to extract the typical copper shade. Part of the must ferments in steel, while a fraction matures in large oak casks. Ageing continues for about eight months on the lees, punctuated by weekly bâtonnage. This careful management elevates the elegance of the sip, offering a deep persistence that combines the structure of a red with the agility of a white.
History and curiosities
The Le Vigne di Zamò winery combines a deep family passion with modern oenological techniques, enhancing the prestigious territory of Manzano. This elegant Pinot Grigio Ramato celebrates Friulian tradition: thanks to careful cold maceration on the skins, the wine takes on its fascinating and unmistakable copper hue. Rigorous manual work in the vineyard is combined with meticulous care in the cellar, culminating in ageing on the lees for six to eight months with weekly bâtonnage, to give the sip exceptional power and elegance.

The company is fortunate to draw from three different terroirs that give the wines different and unique characters and personalities. The Zamò family has been cultivating the land for centuries: first the grandfather, then the father and finally the sons, all united under the same goal: cultivating the land and making wine as a sign of civilisation and respect for their origins and traditions,
In addition to great white wines, including Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, the company focuses on red wines to maintain the indigenous grape varieties and to pursue new projects and innovations. For years, the Zamò family has been conducting cultivation with sustainability-conscious methods, and in 2021 they obtained the first Certified Organic grape harvest. Read more
