Description
What type of wine it is
Moscato Canelli Casa di Bianca by Gianni Doglia is a sweet and aromatic white wine, an authentic expression of the Canelli area. Produced with Moscato Bianco grapes, it has a bright straw-yellow colour, enlivened by a fine-bubbled perlage. The nose reveals clear scents of orange blossom, peach, sage and anise. On the palate, the aromatic sweetness is perfectly balanced by a vibrant freshness, which provides an enveloping and velvety texture. The secondary fermentation in autoclaves using the Martinotti-Charmat method ensures a fragrant sip and a very clean finish.
Where it comes from
This wine comes from Piedmont, in the heart of the Asti area, and originates from the historic Casa di Bianca vineyard located in Castagnole delle Lanze. The winery adopts an organic and sustainable approach to protect the integrity of the local ecosystem. The unique microclimate of the area favours the perfect ripening of the Moscato Bianco, enhancing its rich aromatic profile. The sandy-clay soil gives agility and dynamism to the palate, elegantly offsetting the natural sweetness. Gianni Doglia has been enhancing the territory since 1940 through meticulous artisanal production.
How it is produced
Production begins in September with a manual harvest aimed at selecting only the best bunches. After a soft pressing to extract the free-run must, the juice is transferred to autoclaves. Fermentation is halted by lowering the temperature, an essential technique for preserving the grape's natural sugars. This is followed by ageing on the lees for approximately six months: this cold rest stabilises the floral notes and defines an elegant sparkling process, ensuring a harmonious and refreshing taste.
History and interesting facts
Born in Castagnole delle Lanze from a tradition that began in 1940, this award-winning Moscato d’Asti DOCG celebrates Casa di Bianca, a prestigious plot that has always been dedicated to the cultivation of Moscato Bianco grapes. The rigorous manual harvest in early September ensures exceptional fruit. Thanks to six months of ageing in pressure tanks (autoclaves) in contact with the lees according to the Martinotti-Charmat method, the wine retains its vibrant aromatic freshness, offering a fine perlage: an excellence also recognised by Gambero Rosso and AIS.

This is the case for the Moscato produced by Gianni Doglia who devotes a lot of attention to the production of two types of both charged with fineness. Excellent all the other wines, tasty, catchy with so much passion inside each sip. The Merlot in its typology of Red Monferrato (with the exclamation point) has more and more charisma and we are always grateful for having tasted it, because it is produced in very limited edition with only 500 bottles.
