Description
What type of wine it is
Domaine A.F. Gros's Vosne Romanée Les Chalandins is a still red wine from the Vosne-Romanée appellation in Burgundy, which interprets the elegance of Pinot Noir with extreme finesse. In the glass, it presents a medium-intensity ruby red appearance. The aromatic bouquet opens with hints of ripe cherry, enriched by delicate oriental spices and nuances of dried orange peel. On the palate, it reveals itself to be fresh, powerful and enveloping; being unfiltered, it offers a full and intense sip with a bold personality.
Where it comes from
This great red is born in France, in the heart of Burgundy, a land of choice for viticultural excellence. It comes specifically from the renowned Vosne-Romanée, an area famous for producing wines capable of combining grace and depth. The Domaine A.F. Gros estate, today led by the children of the founder Anne-Françoise Gros together with the oenologist François Parent, meticulously tends the vineyards to transfer the identity of the place directly into the glass. The name Les Chalandins identifies the exact parcel of origin of the grapes, underlining the deep link with a unique terroir of unmistakable typicity.
How it is produced
Obtained exclusively from carefully selected Pinot Noir grapes, this wine is vinified to enhance varietal purity and the definition of the bouquet. The choice to produce the wine with zero filtration keeps the aromatic profile and the original structure of the material intact. Awarded 91 points by Decanter, it possesses an extraordinary ageing potential that allows it to evolve elegantly in the cellar for up to fifteen years. To appreciate every nuance, a decanting of about an hour and a serving temperature between 16 and 18 °C are recommended.

At 25 years old, Anne saw the family domaine grow from 3 to 6.5 ha. Recently, she invested in a new cellar. She is a winegrower suspicious of certitude and fastidious about maintaining her freedom.
As a female winegrower, Anne knew how to prove herself and convince all who doubted her ability to manage a domaine. She showed that she had not only the shoulders but the head to make her family heritage one of the greatest domaines of Burgundy.
In 1984 she had to stop studying Arts to study vines’culture and oenology in Beaune and Dijon. Now her passion for vine and wine as well as her talent, sensitivity and professionalism position her as a winemaker amateurs can rely on.
A mother of 3 children, Anne spends all her time working at the Domaine and taking care of her family. Read more
