Description
What type of wine it is
The Franciacorta Vittorio Moretti Dosaggio Zero Riserva by Bellavista is a rigorous and elegant expression of the Traditional Method. This wine, produced with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, represents a perfect synthesis of the style of Franciacorta, in Lombardy, under the Franciacorta appellation. It is a wine with a taut and very fresh profile, capable of combining dynamic citrus, hints of ripe fruit such as peach, and delicate touches of small red fruits. On the palate, its soft volume integrates with a marine sapidity and a long, decisive finish. The choice of Zero Dosage enhances its purity, offering a structured and complex tasting experience.
Where it comes from
This Franciacorta originates from the prestigious terroir of Erbusco, extending also to the areas of Nigoline, Torbiato, and Colombaro, in Lombardy. The vineyards, with an average age of 35 years, benefit from optimal microclimatic conditions for the perfect ripening of the grapes. The vines are grown at a high planting density. The rigorous selection of bunches from the estate's best crus authentically and objectively translates the peculiarities of the Brescian viticultural landscape.
How it is produced
The production of this wine follows a meticulous process based on the Traditional Method. After a manual harvest, the free-run must is extracted through soft pressing. A portion of the base wines matures in small oak barrels, while the remaining fraction ages in stainless steel tanks, ensuring an ideal structural balance before blending. Secondary fermentation in the bottle is followed by an extremely long ageing on the lees of 72 months, with manual riddling. Disgorgement takes place without the addition of sugars (Zero Dosage), keeping the original expression of the wine intact.
History and interesting facts
Founded in 1977 in Lombardy, the prestigious Bellavista brand produces the Franciacorta Vittorio Moretti Zero Dosage Riserva 2018, an exceptional cuvée dedicated to its founder, Vittorio Moretti. This Riserva is produced only in excellent vintages; among past harvests, years such as 1984, 1988 and 2018 stand out, the latter being a particularly favourable vintage following the frosts of 2017. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes come from 35-year-old vines and rest for 72 months on the lees.
