Description

After 1976 and 2003, 2015 was the third hottest year since 1951. The drought intensified from mid-May until the second half of August. Thus, for three months, the Champagne region was marked by unprecedented heat that slowed down the development of the grape clusters somewhat. Unexpectedly, rain fell on the vineyards for a good two weeks after 15 August. At the same time, and fortunately, the temperatures dropped sharply and limited the risk of disease. The bunches of grapes were thus able to develop without disturbing the ripening process and without disrupting the harvest. However, the harvest was carried out under close supervision throughout the entire appellation area in order to obtain optimum potential degrees and levels of ripeness. The grapes are very healthy and the musts are very ripe, which bodes that the wines will be full.

Perlage

Perlage

The perlage is fine and nervous and hints at a wine full of promise.

Perfume

Perfume

The first nose evokes a walk in the woods: fresh hazelnuts, dried pine needles, cedar wood. On aeration, new essences appear: liquorice, praline, dried fruit.

Color

Color

Bronze gold with subtle silvery reflections. The colour lights up to the rhythm of its effervescence.

Taste

Taste

Pleasant vibrations in the mouth and delicious substance. Freshness explodes and aromas of ripe yellow fruit and nectarines are expressed. The attack is fleshy and mentholated. The palate is rich and enveloping and offers a certain gluttony (chestnuts, hazelnuts) dominated by the Pinot Noir that gives structure and stimulates the taste buds.

It is a beautiful story, a story of men. That of Henri Macquart, pioneering founder of the Centre Vinicole de la Champagne. That of Nicolas Feuillatte, an audacious businessman. That of volunteer winegrowers who, together, dare and succeed in a gamble: to create a brand of excellence, the Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

Nicolas Feuillatte Champagnes draw their energy and refinement from a remarkable variety of crus sublimated by the delicate art of blending, reflecting the balance, finesse and freshness of this unique land. Our cuvées originate from a great variety of perfectly ripe grapes, vinified by cru or cru zone and by grape variety, as well as from a rigorous selection of Premiers and Grands Crus. The mosaic of various soils gives shape to these nuanced Champagnes.
