Description

What kind of wine it is

Zorzettig Friuli Pinot Grigio is a still white wine that elegantly expresses the character of its region. Made from Pinot Grigio grapes, it appears a straw yellow colour with subtle amber highlights. The bouquet is marked by intense fruity aromas, with hints of acacia flowers and delicate notes of bread crust. On the palate, the wine offers a smooth and full-bodied sip, supported by harmonious balance and a pleasant freshness. Excellent as an aperitif, it proves versatile at the table, especially when paired with fish dishes, white meats, fresh cheeses and cured meats.

Where it comes from

This Pinot Grigio originates in Spessa di Cividale del Friuli, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The microclimate of this hilly area benefits from the protection of the Julian Alps from cold northern winds, while the influence of the Adriatic Sea moderates the temperatures. The vines grow on marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin. The particular soil composition plays a key role in the development of aromas, giving the wine a distinct minerality that perfectly balances the natural richness of the fruit.

How it is produced

Production begins in September with a manual harvest, aimed at selecting the bunches at ideal ripeness. In the winery, the Pinot Grigio grapes undergo a gentle pressing before white vinification, with no contact with the skins. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to preserve the integrity of the primary aromas. This is followed by a period of maturation in tank, interspersed with careful rackings, allowing the wine to achieve structural stability, aromatic clarity and full flavour harmony before bottling.

History and Curiosities

Born in the prestigious Friuli DOC, the Pinot Grigio Zorzettig 2025 encapsulates the authentic heritage of a winery founded in 1986. The grapes grow in Cividale del Friuli, caressed by the mild climate of the Adriatic Sea and protected from the cold winds of the Julian Alps. In this exceptional marl and sandstone terroir, the vineyards cultivated using the Guyot method yield precious bunches, meticulously hand-picked at the beginning of September. Expert craftsmanship transforms these noble fruits into a pure and vivid expression of Friulian minerality.

The Zorzettig Winery is located in the Colli Orientali del Friuli area, sheltered behind by the Julian Alps, which form a barrier against the cold currents of the north, and influenced by the Adriatic sea, which mitigates and acts as a temperature controller.

Despite having over a century, the Zorzettig Winery has been continuously renewed both in the vineyard, improving the attention for environmental respect and with the redevelopment of native vineyards, both in production and bottling techniques.

110 hectares planted on soils of marls and sandstones of Eocene origin formed 50 million years ago from the seabed, which produce from the Classic line to the Myò: elegant and reliable wines, and wines from selected grapes of the best rows.

The pedoclimatic environment, the structure and the passion of generations of the family, characterize this serious and important company.
