Description
What kind of wine it is
Vite Colte Derthona is a still white wine with an intense straw yellow colour, representing the highest expression of the Timorasso grape variety. Its complex aromatic profile reveals elegant floral notes of acacia and hawthorn, enriched by hints of peach and honey that blend with a distinct mineral touch of flint. On the palate, it is dry, supported by a robust and savoury structure. Ideally served between 12 and 14 degrees, it elegantly accompanies shellfish, lean fish, seafood risottos and mature cheeses, offering a long-lasting taste persistence.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the Colli Tortonesi, a Piedmontese area renowned for Timorasso, which has been cultivated here since the Middle Ages. Vite Colte enhances the local viticultural heritage through careful vineyard management, entrusted to the expertise of oenologist Bruno Cordero. The company philosophy is based on a shared ideal of quality, aimed at highlighting the strong connection with the local identity of the Tortonese. The result is a wine that faithfully reflects its land of origin, offering an authentic expression of the Alessandria landscape.
How it is produced
The vinification process begins with a gentle pressing followed by a brief cold maceration. The free-run must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, preserving the integrity of the Timorasso’s varietal aromas. This is followed by significant ageing on the lees and fine lees for at least twelve months, carried out entirely in steel. This meticulous management of time in the cellar enriches the wine’s flavour profile, giving it an enveloping texture and remarkable longevity, allowing it to evolve beautifully over the years.
History and Curiosities
Cultivated in the Tortona area since the Middle Ages, the white grape variety Timorasso represents a historical excellence of Piedmont. The Vite Colte winery enhances its legacy through a meticulous philological study of the territory carried out in collaboration with the oenologist Bruno Cordero. By remunerating winegrowers based on the size of their vineyards rather than the quantity produced, the company pursues a shared ideal of superior quality. This gives rise to an authentic Colli Tortonesi DOC, capable of combining cutting-edge technologies with respect for a land with centuries of history.

Vite Colte is made up of people who strongly believe in a shared concept of quality, where the responsibility of individuals is an integral part of the final result. Winegrowers, partners, friends. The members of ViteColte are "accomplices" in a project that demands dedication to quality which is every bit as strict as the protocols implemented in its pursuit. Every winegrower is remunerated on the basis of the size of the vineyard and not the quantity of product, in order to obtain the highest level of quality. Read more
