Description

What kind of wine it is

Greco di Tufo L’Ariella by Vinosia is a dry white wine from Campania that fully expresses the character of the Greco grape within the renowned Greco di Tufo production area. The aromatic profile is clear and defined, with notes of green apple, white peach and white flowers, enriched by a distinct chalky minerality and fresh citrus hints. On the palate, it is full and structured, in a harmonious balance between concentrated fruit and a lively acidity. The sip, supported by a pleasant gustatory tension, ends with a long and persistent finish, enhanced by three months of ageing in steel.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the vineyards of Montefusco, located in the hilly area of Irpinia, in Campania, between four hundred and seven hundred metres above sea level. The continental climate ensures marked temperature variations, favouring a slow ripening that preserves the natural freshness of the bunches. The volcanic soils, formed from the disintegration of sandstones, are rich in calcium carbonate, clay and sand. This complex geological matrix gives the wine a pronounced mineral character, lending breadth to the flavour profile and a solid structure.

How it is produced

Vinification begins in October with the manual harvest, carried out at full ripeness. In the winery, gentle crushing and pressing of the whole grapes is followed by static cold clarification of the must. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with partial malolactic fermentation to harmonise the overall profile. The subsequent ageing in steel for about three months preserves the aromatic clarity, enhancing the freshness and identity of the grape variety.

History and Curiosities

Originating from Montefusco, in Irpinia, Greco di Tufo DOCG L’Ariella expresses the most authentic essence of the Campanian terroir. The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards situated on volcanic soils rich in minerals, which give the wine an elegant and complex structure. After the manual harvest in October, the wine ferments and matures for three months in steel, thus preserving a vibrant fruity freshness. Awarded the prestigious Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso, this white by Vinosia offers a tasting experience of enveloping and profound charm.

We are in one of the most vocated and historical areas of Irpinia, where the 50 hectares cultivated with the native varieties, Fiano, Greco and Aglianico, insist. These serve as a solid basis for a project that aims to enhance the Irpinian wine tradition through a contemporary technical interpretation.
