Description
What kind of wine it is
Vigne Piemontesi Barolo is a still red wine that expresses the authentic character of Barolo. Made from Nebbiolo grapes, it appears in the glass with a bright garnet colour enriched by ruby highlights. The bouquet is elegant and structured, characterised by clear notes of raspberry jam that blend with hints of liquorice and spicy nuances. On the palate, it stands out for its powerful and harmonious body, supported by velvety tannins that lead the sip towards a long and persistent finish, ideal for flavourful meats, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
It originates from the historic hills of the Langhe in Piedmont, a prime area for the cultivation of Nebbiolo. In this region, the vines sink their roots into complex soils, characterised by a significant presence of marl and sandstone alongside limestone and clay. This specific soil composition is fundamental in giving the wine its structure. The pedoclimatic environment and careful selection in the vineyard allow for an expression of great aromatic intensity, deeply linked to its territory of origin.
How it is produced
The production process begins with careful crushing of the grapes, followed by alcoholic fermentation aimed at the correct extraction of aromas and phenolic components. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation takes place to soften the flavour profile and ensure overall balance. A crucial stage is the long maturation: the wine rests in wooden barrels for at least thirty-eight months. This ageing consolidates the tannic structure and ensures excellent longevity, allowing the wine to evolve in the cellar for 10-15 years with elegance and precision.
