Description
What kind of wine it is
Vietti Barbera d’Alba Tre Vigne is a still red wine that precisely expresses the character of Piedmont. Made exclusively from Barbera grapes, this Barbera d’Alba displays an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe cherries and vanilla, enriched by delicate hints of violet and sweet spices. On the palate, it reveals a rounded and full-bodied structure, supported by bright acidity and sweet tannins that harmoniously integrate with the wood. The sip finishes with a persistent finale, ideal for pairing with roast red meats, game, and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in the hills of Piedmont, within the renowned Langhe region. The vines are trained using the Guyot system and are spread across historically renowned villages such as Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d’Alba, La Morra, and Castiglione Tinella. The calcareous-clay soils provide the ideal environment for the development of the vine, giving the grapes a clear expression and a pronounced natural acidity. The connection with the land enhances the characteristics of the grape variety, ensuring a perfect balance between lively freshness and the deep ripeness of the fruit, reflecting the authentic identity of the Langhe landscape.
How it is produced
Production follows a careful and natural approach, making the wine suitable for a vegan diet. Vinification begins with an alcoholic fermentation of about two weeks in steel tanks, with frequent délestage and daily pumping over to encourage optimal extraction of colour and substance. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in steel containers. To reach its full expression, the wine undergoes ageing for about a year, resting in wooden barrels and steel. This careful management gives the glass a full profile, a measured balance, and great drinking pleasure.
