Description
What kind of wine it is
Vietti Barbaresco Roncaglie Masseria is a still red wine made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes in the renowned Barbaresco area. It displays a ruby red colour enriched with elegant garnet hues, introducing a complex aromatic profile where notes of raspberry, blackberry, rose, mint and liquorice coexist. On the palate, it reveals a full body, supported by vibrant minerality and a silky, mature tannin. The balance between fresh acidity and imposing structure culminates in a persistent finish, characterised by a typical almond note.
Where it comes from
This Nebbiolo originates in Piedmont, in the prestigious Roncaglie Masseria geographical designation located in the municipality of Barbaresco. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 240 and 280 metres above sea level, with an optimal south-west exposure. The vines, trained using the Guyot system, take root in calcareous-clay soils rich in Sant’Agata Marl. This specific geological formation gives the grapes extraordinary concentration and defines a precise territorial identity, which translates in the glass into a fresh, elegant wine with marked structural finesse.
How it is produced
Production begins with manual harvesting and fermentation in steel in contact with the skins. The process includes cold maceration and the use of the submerged cap technique, essential for extracting colour and structure with great delicacy. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wood and is followed by careful ageing in oak barrels, mainly of large size. This wine, suitable for those following a vegan lifestyle, is bottled without filtration to preserve its integrity. To best appreciate it, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving it alongside roasts, game or mature cheeses.
