Description
What kind of wine it is
Cortesar Climat Chardonnay by Vie di Romans is a still white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, made from Chardonnay grapes. Belonging to the controlled designation of origin Friuli Isonzo, it stands out for its fresh and elegant profile, with floral, fruity notes and mineral nuances, offering a balanced, smooth and silky sip. The production involves ageing in steel using the sur lie method, which enhances the lively acidity and long persistence.
Where it comes from
Originating from the Friuli Isonzo area in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, this wine reflects a highly suited region. The vines grow on stony soils, a feature that gives the glass a defined taste and clear mineral sensations. The Vie di Romans winery, led by the Gallo family, vinifies only its own grapes to highlight the specific character of each vineyard.
How it is produced
The production involves eighteen months of ageing in steel with the sur lie method, which ensures aromatic clarity and freshness. The rest on fine lees imparts a pleasant sensation of softness and silkiness, perfectly balanced by the natural acidity. This process enhances the fruity and floral notes, outlining a consistent organoleptic profile and very precise persistence.
History and Curiosities
The Gallo family's commitment to the world of vines and wine began over a century ago. An interesting and historically significant aspect of Vie di Romans is the decision to vinify exclusively grapes from their own estates: this allows them to fully respect and express the authentic sensory quintessence and the specific historical character of the originating vineyards.
