Description
What kind of wine it is
Velenosi Querciantica Vino e Visciole is a sweet aromatic red, an authentic expression of the Marche region. This blend is born from the meeting of the Lacrima grape and sour cherry syrup, wild cherries that give it a soft and structured profile. In the glass, it appears ruby red with deep amaranth reflections. The bouquet is persistent and releases aromas of flowers and red fruits, enriched by notes of strawberry, raspberry, wild berries, ripe pear and peach. On the palate, the pronounced sweetness is solidly balanced by the savouriness and natural acidity of the fruit, offering a long and satisfying finish.
Where it comes from
The product has its roots in the Marche, the chosen land of the Velenosi winery. The production is inspired by the tradition of Marche visciolato, a drink documented since the time of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. The identity of this speciality lies in the union between local red wines and an ancient variety of wild cherry, which brings a lively fruity component. The regional character translates into a precise style, where Lacrima expresses its peculiarities by creating a structural balance that enhances the contrast between the acidity of the sour cherry and the smoothness of the sip.
How it is produced
Production begins in July with the harvesting of the sour cherries, which are left to macerate with sugar, partly whole and partly crushed. This stage activates a slow fermentation that produces a naturally fragrant syrup. After decanting and filtering, the sugary base is incorporated into the Lacrima wine, triggering a refermentation that blends the aromas. The process is finally halted to maintain a high residual sugar, ensuring the desired roundness. The result is a rich and full sip, supported by a lively acidity that defines and balances the structure of the wine.
History and Curiosities
Querciantica evokes the ancient Marche tradition of visciolato, appreciated since the time of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. This excellence, crafted by Velenosi, is born from the meeting of Lacrima wine and a fragrant sour cherry syrup, made from wild cherries picked at the beginning of July. Once considered a gift dedicated to feminine taste for its ability to soften the most tannic reds, today it is a sought-after meditation wine awarded 89 points by Vinous. An elixir with a satisfying sip, capable of enhancing every special moment.

The company's farms extend across the hills that surround the splendid valley of the Tronto river, which, thanks to its clayey and fertile soils, has always been suited to the cultivation of vines.

Since the beginning, the winery has achieved great success with journalistic criticism published in the most renowned national and international newspapers such as: W, Robert Parker, Red shrimp, Luca Maroni, AIS and many others.
This is why it is present throughout the national territory with the collaboration of 85 agencies and abroad where it is present in 52 nations both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
