Description

What kind of wine it is

Passerina Brut Metodo Charmat Villa Angela is a sparkling wine from the Marche region, crafted by Velenosi, and a true expression of the Passerina grape variety. The glass, bright with silvery highlights, is crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it releases aromas of green apple and citron, intertwined with delicate notes of acacia blossom. On the palate, it is fresh and savoury, supported by lively acidity that balances the softness, finishing with a subtle mineral trail and a harmonious correspondence between taste and aroma.

Where it comes from

This sparkling wine originates from the vineyards of Ascoli Piceno, rooted in medium-textured soils with a marked sandy tendency. The Passerina vines grow at an altitude between 200 and 300 metres, an ideal pedoclimatic context to encourage clear aromas and great freshness. Velenosi cultivates its plots using the Guyot training system, enhancing the characteristics of the land to achieve a defined drink, deeply linked to the local winemaking tradition.

How it is produced

Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest, during which the bunches are carefully picked to preserve their integrity. The base wine undergoes secondary fermentation using the Charmat Method, taking advantage of re-fermentation in a pressurised tank to define the Brut style and maintain the primary aromas of the grape variety. This process ensures continuous effervescence and enhances the delicate balance of flavours, offering lively citrus sensations that make each sip harmonious and inviting.

History and Curiosities

Produced in Ascoli Piceno, this VSQ sparkling wine celebrates a noble indigenous grape variety from the Marche region. Since 1984, the Velenosi winery has been creating the Villa Angela cuvée, benefiting from the collaboration of renowned oenologists. The meticulous manual harvest in crates preserves the integrity of the grapes, which are enhanced through the Charmat Method. This refined expression of pure Passerina combines local tradition with expert refermentation in autoclave, offering a prestigious glass capable of evolving over time and maintaining extraordinary aromatic freshness for up to five years.
