Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Vazart-Coquart Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Zero stands out for its extraordinary expressive clarity. When poured into the glass, it reveals a bright straw yellow colour, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet unveils fresh citrus notes, enriched by hints of dried apricot and brioche, all supported by a pronounced minerality. On the palate, it is creamy and well-structured, with a remarkable balance between freshness and savouriness. This harmony makes it ideal for accompanying refined fish starters, shellfish and cheeses.
Where it comes from
This Blanc de Blancs originates in Chouilly, a prestigious village in the heart of Champagne, renowned for its Grand Cru classification. Here, the Vazart-Coquart winery cultivates Chardonnay with the utmost attention to the ecosystem. The commitment to biodiversity translates into an ethical approach, recognised by the High Environmental Value certification. The vineyards are managed according to the principles of organic and sustainable viticulture, aimed at protecting the integrity of the soils. This authentic expression of the terroir also boasts excellent ageing potential.
How it is produced
Vinification begins in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by the complete carrying out of malolactic fermentation. The prise de mousse takes place using the Traditional Method, ensuring an elegant and silky effervescence. The choice of a Brut Zero dosage, with no added sugars, allows the natural characteristics of the Chardonnay to be faithfully reflected. This technical approach enhances the clarity of the sip, highlighting the savoury tension and aromatic purity that define this exceptional wine.
History and Curiosities
Originating from Chouilly and produced by the historic Maison Vazart-Coquart, now in its third generation, this Grand Cru Champagne celebrates the value of biodiversity. Created by Jean-Pierre Vazart, it is a pure Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay grapes grown using organic and sustainable viticulture. The complete absence of dosage enhances the expression of the terroir, ensuring excellent ageing potential. Awarded 92 points by James Suckling, this refined traditional method combines the highest quality with a deep respect for the environment.
