Description
What kind of wine it is
Valpanera's Aquileia Traminer Aromatico is an organic white wine from the Friuli Aquileia denomination in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, made from Traminer Aromatico grapes and boasting a bright straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is fragrant, characterised by notes of fresh apple and citrus, enhanced by subtle hints of honey. On the palate, it reveals a dry profile and a pleasant citrus vein, supported by a light body. The taste is fresh and harmonious, offering a clean sip that faithfully reflects the variety's identity.
Where it comes from
This white wine originates from the Cortona di Fiumicello estates, located within the Friuli Aquileia area in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The vineyards are situated near the ancient bed of the Torre stream, on soils rich in active limestone composed mainly of silt, sand and gravel. This geological composition gives the wine a clear flavour structure and a strong territorial character. The soil encourages a precise aromatic expression, allowing the grapes to develop a linear and clean style.
How it is produced
Harvesting takes place in the first half of September. In the winery, temperature-controlled fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, a deliberate choice to preserve the fragrance and delicacy of the fruit. This process keeps the original aromas of the Traminer Aromatico intact, ensuring the wine has excellent versatility in pairings. At the table, it pairs perfectly with lean fish and poultry dishes, and also harmonises well with cheeses, vegetarian dishes and spicy cuisine. The ideal serving temperature is between 10 and 12°C.

Friuli is renowned for its esteemed white wines, attributed to several key factors: The region’s UNIQUE MICROCLIMATE, influenced by the Alps, provides warm days and cool nights, crucial for preserving grape acidity and freshness. This balance allows complex flavors to develop, resulting in vibrant, nuanced wines. The MINERAL RICH MARL AND SANDSTONE MICRO SOIL add distinct mineral notes. Friuli winemakers, with generations of expertise, blend traditional techniques with
modern innovations to elevate their wines. Friuli wines are celebrated for their AROMATIC PROFILES featuring citrus, stone fruits, and floral undertones, pairing beautifully with various dishes and loved by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
Between the sea and the Alpine snow‑capped mountains lies a narrow cultivable strip of land, shaped by alternating layers of clay, lime, and sandstone. This region offers a rare harmony between the sweetness of marine clay and the mineral
toughness of the Isonzo gravels. A natural equilibrium that enhances the character of our grape varieties and gives life to wines of exceptional quality. And it is precisely here that our winery is located. Read more
