Description
What kind of wine it is
Moscato d’Asti G.D. Vajra is a sweet white wine from Piedmont made exclusively from Moscato Bianco grapes. It displays a bright golden yellow colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, notes of tropical fruit, peach, elderflower and white musk emerge. On the palate, the light and persistent bubbles balance the sweetness with lively acidity, offering a fine texture and a savoury finish. This sweet white wine is perfect for convivial moments, proving excellent as an aperitif, paired with fruit tarts or blue cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from historic vineyards in the Cuneo area, between the towns of Mango and Santo Stefano Belbo. The soils, rich in calcareous tuff and marl, give the wine its unmistakable aromatic freshness. The climate, characterised by snowy winters and mild summers, encourages ripening that preserves the varietal aromas. Vineyard management is based on organic and sustainable practices, excluding irrigation to encourage natural grassing. Thinning is adapted to seasonal needs, constantly safeguarding the environmental balance.
How it is produced
Harvesting follows specific timings for each plot. In the winery, processing begins with a gentle pressing and a brief cold settling. This is followed by a low-temperature fermentation, deliberately halted by cooling to retain the grape’s aromatic qualities and natural residual sweetness. The wine rests at low temperatures without prolonged ageing, thus preserving its fruity fragrance and the typical effervescence that distinguishes Moscato d’Asti.
