Description
What kind of wine it is
Moscato Giallo from Cantina Tramin is a sweet passito white wine with the Alto Adige controlled designation of origin, which precisely expresses the character of the Moscato Giallo grape variety. In the glass, it displays an intense straw yellow colour, revealing clear aromas of melon, carnation, and rose petals. On the palate, it offers a sweet and savoury sip, enriched by a slight spiciness and a pronounced freshness thanks to the absence of malolactic fermentation.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Alto Adige, from vineyards cultivated on the hillsides of Termeno and Egna. The vines grow between 250 and 550 metres above sea level, sinking their roots into calcareous soils with a distinct clay and gravel composition. The climate is tempered by daytime Mediterranean currents, balanced by very cool nocturnal mountain breezes. This strong temperature variation, combined with the constant action of the winds, encourages the development of aromatic notes in the grapes and helps to preserve the intense natural freshness that animates the structure and elegance of the wine.
How it is produced
The process begins with a rigorous manual harvest, followed by gentle pressing to extract only the purest must. The subsequent fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, preserving the floral and fruity exuberance of the grape variety. The wine then continues its maturation in steel containers, avoiding malolactic fermentation to maintain maximum gustatory tension. This targeted oenological approach allows for absolute expressive clarity, reflecting the authentic identity of the fruit.
