Description
What kind of wine it is
Primaronda by Torrevento is a rosé from Apulia that elegantly expresses the characteristics of the Bombino Nero grape variety. Produced in the Castel del Monte area, it presents a vibrant pink colour enriched with delicate violet hues. On the nose, it reveals a bouquet of small red fruits and exotic hints, complemented by notes of rose and black pepper. On the palate, the pronounced freshness accompanies a full and rounded sip, distinguished by balance and persistence. Its balanced structure makes it extremely versatile at the table, ideal for accompanying the entire meal, particularly shellfish, fish dishes, white meats and delicate cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the Apulian hills between Corato and Andria, in the Castel del Monte area. The vineyards, cultivated according to the principles of organic farming and sustainability, are located at an altitude of about 350-400 metres, an ideal climate for preserving the aromatic profile of the grapes. The calcareous-clay soils of medium texture ensure a complex and balanced taste profile. The espalier training system supports the vocation of the territory, allowing the native grape variety to ripen in perfect harmony with the hilly environment.
How it is produced
The grape harvest takes place between the end of September and the first days of October. The process involves a gentle pressing and a short maceration, necessary to extract the desired colour and maintain vibrant aromas. This is followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature, essential for preserving the fragrance of the original aromas. The entire maturation in stainless steel lasts for four months, avoiding the use of barrels so as not to alter the natural freshness of the variety. The production cycle ends with a period of rest, fundamental for stabilising the harmony between the fruity component and the acidity before release to the market.

Vineyards are only grown with autochthonous vines, following the dictates of sustainable agriculture. At the winery, the production method follows a non-excessively long maceration time and a non-excessive use of wood. Francesco Liantonio has been at the helm; there have been many interventions: the expansion of the vineyard area, investments in technology and innovation and the start of the process for quality certification. It has 500 hectares of vineyards and 2,600,000 bottles, yet it can amaze and innovate, producing wines combining large numbers and quality. Read more
