Description
What kind of wine it is
Rosa-ae by Torre dei Beati is an organic Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, a still rosé made exclusively from Montepulciano grapes. Aged in steel containers, this wine stands out for its remarkable aromatic clarity and a vibrant, expressive profile. On the nose, clear notes of strawberry, pomegranate and cherry emerge, accompanied by delicate floral hints reminiscent of rose. On the palate, it offers good volume and a balanced structure, harmonising the natural softness of the fruit with pronounced acidity and a distinct mineral streak, leading to a satisfying and persistent finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Loreto Aprutino, in the heart of the region, where the Torre dei Beati vineyards are managed according to strict natural farming practices. The rows, situated at around 250 metres above sea level, benefit from south-east and north-west exposures that preserve the health and vibrancy of the grapes. The nature of the clay-limestone soils supports the quality of the raw material and imparts a distinctive minerality to the tasting experience, outlining a character that is consistent and deeply connected to the identity of the land.
How it is produced
Production begins with manual and selective harvesting carried out in several passes, to ensure only perfectly ripe grapes are used. The vinification process combines two techniques: part of the must is obtained through saignée after cold pre-maceration, while the remainder comes from direct and gentle pressing of whole bunches. Fermentation at controlled temperature and subsequent ageing in steel allow the wine’s acidity to be preserved, precisely defining every aromatic detail.

Our family-run company was set up 1999 when we decided to take over the vineyard cultivated for many years by our Father Rocco. Convinced of the impossibility of separating the concept of quality of wine from that of its genuineness, we immediately converted the vineyard to the biological method and our first bottle was produced in 2000. The first production unit, located on the ground floor of the old farmhouse was later joined by a barrel cellar for maturing the wines and a new production cellar. At the same time our range of products expanded with the study of significant variations on Montepulciano theme, followed by new Pecorino and Trebbiano vineyards.
We cultivate 21 hectares in Loreto Aprutino, between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, 25 kilometers from the Adriatic, on the first spurs of clayey-calcareous hills that close the valley of the Tavo torrent, rising towards the 3,000 metres of the Gran Sasso d'Italia, the highest peak in the Apennines. This particular position means that the vines are constantly affected during the day by the air temperate from the sea, and at night, especially in the last month of ripening, by the cold that descends from the mountain, which is already covered in snow in September.
The Abruzzi pergola represents the type of planting of the oldest vineyards, while high-density espalier is used for the most recent plantings. Agronomic practices vary according to the type of planting, the characteristics of the vine, and the individual parcel of land, always aiming to achieve a natural vegetative-productive balance, aimed at obtaining limited quantities.
Harvesting is carried out exclusively with successive passes of scalar picking, selecting each time on each plant only the perfectly healthy and ripe bunches, leaving the others to gain greater concentration until the next harvest. Cultivation is carried out using organic methods, certified in accordance with European laws.
