Description

What kind of wine it is

Neprica Negroamaro by Tormaresca is a still red wine with an intense ruby colour. On the nose, it offers a rich bouquet of morello cherry and wild berries, enhanced by hints of violet and subtle notes of vanilla and coffee. On the palate, it is smooth and elegant, supported by fine tannins and a vibrant freshness. The sip finishes with a long, fruity finish.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Puglia, in a prime area that enhances the characteristics of local varieties. The vineyards are located at the Maìme Estate in San Pietro Vernotico and at Bocca di Lupo in Minervino Murge, ideal areas for defining the character of the Negroamaro grape. Tormaresca leads production by highlighting the oenological potential of the region, ensuring a faithful expression of the land and a strong identity imprint.

How it is produced

The grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The temperature-controlled maceration, carried out at less than twenty-six degrees, lasts between eight and ten days. After malolactic fermentation, completed during the winter, the wine matures for eight months in steel, while a small portion rests in third and fourth passage barrels. This is followed by the creation of the final blend, which is refined for a further four months to achieve perfect structural balance.

History and Curiosities

Born from the vision of the Antinori family, Neprica Negroamaro by Tormaresca has embodied the authentic soul of Apulian viticulture since 1999. Created in the Maìme and Bocca di Lupo estates, this enveloping Puglia IGT skilfully combines tradition and deep respect for the land. After meticulous vinification, the wine matures through a harmonious eight-month refinement in steel and barrique, completed by a period of rest in the bottle: a careful artisanal process that imparts elegant tannins and irresistible freshness.
