Description
What kind of wine it is
Fichimori by Tormaresca is a red wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica from Salento, matured in steel and designed to be served chilled. Made from a blend of Negroamaro and Syrah grapes, it offers a lively aromatic profile that enhances the fruit's character. On the nose, it delivers intense aromas of raspberry and cherry, enriched by delicate floral notes of violet and lavender. The palate is fresh, smooth and fruity, supported by a pleasant savouriness and delicate tannins that enhance its drinkability, with a harmonious finish.
Where it comes from
This red is born at the Masseria Maìme estate, located in Upper Salento along the Apulian coast. The vineyards are set in a coastal landscape embraced by woods and pine forests stretching towards the sea. The maritime influence and Mediterranean climate ensure ideal ripening of the grapes, giving a pronounced aromatic freshness. The nature of the calcareous and clay soils provides flavour support and character, resulting in a balanced structure and extremely easy drinking.
How it is produced
After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The must undergoes a cold maceration for five days, an essential step to extract colour and aromatic components without weighing down the palate. After racking, fermentation without skins continues at a controlled temperature, promoting a refined profile. The wine matures for several months in stainless steel tanks, an ideal technique to preserve the original fragrance and deliver an intensely fruity expression.
History and Curiosities
Since 1998, Tormaresca has represented the soul of the Antinori family in Apulia, enhancing the authenticity of the local area. At the Masseria Maìme estate, bordered by lush coastal pine forests, an innovative red wine is produced, specifically designed to be served chilled. The name pays tribute to a prized fig from Upper Salento, whose purplish skin is so dark that it has earned the local dialect nickname “moro”.
