Description

What kind of wine it is

Tormaresca Chardonnay is a still white wine that elegantly expresses the vocation of the Apulian territory. Made from Chardonnay grapes, it stands out for its dry style and lively mineral profile. The bouquet reveals notes of apple and pineapple, enriched by elegant hints of orange blossom. On the palate, it offers a soft entry and a distinct savouriness that leads to a pleasantly citrusy finish. These characteristics make this Chardonnay ideal for enhancing seafood risottos, grilled white meats and soft cheeses.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the Masseria Maime estate of Tormaresca, located in Upper Salento. The vineyard thrives in a unique coastal landscape, where the rows alternate with woods and pine forests close to the sea, creating a distinctive natural setting. In this area of the region, the winery enhances the land by cultivating Chardonnay with great care. The Mediterranean climate gives the fruit a marked freshness, highlighting the area's pedoclimatic characteristics and the natural varietal expression.

How it is produced

The process begins with the manual harvesting of the bunches, followed by gentle pressing to obtain a clear must without damaging the berries. The must is cooled and kept at ten degrees for twenty-four hours, allowing for a natural cold clarification. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to preserve the aromatic integrity. The wine completes its cycle with maturation in steel, a technical choice that preserves its fragrance and harmony.

History and Curiosities

Born in Salento at Masseria Maime, this wine represents the excellence of Tormaresca, a prestigious label of the Antinori family. Surrounded by pine forests that border the sea, the vineyards yield hand-picked grapes to create a truly distinctive Chardonnay Puglia IGT.
