Description
What kind of wine it is
Tiefenbrunner Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Au embodies the essence that Chardonnay expresses in the Alto Adige region. The bouquet opens with clear mineral notes of flint and walnut, evolving towards aromas of exotic yellow fruits and delicate floral essences. On the palate, it is intense and juicy, supported by a full and velvety body that perfectly balances a well-defined acidity and a fine texture. The sip finishes with a mentholated finish of great persistence.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Vigna Au vineyard, located in Niclara and tended by the Tiefenbrunner winery. The vineyard is situated at an altitude between 260 and 320 metres, with a south-eastern exposure that ensures balanced ripening. The roots of old vines delve into deep moraine soils, composed of sand, clay, silt and limestone. These soil characteristics enhance the natural freshness of the fruit and the wine's elegant floral nuances.
How it is produced
Harvesting begins when full phenolic ripeness is reached. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in small oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The wine matures on its lees and rests for six months in steel tanks for natural clarification. After bottling, carried out during the most suitable lunar phase, the wine undergoes bottle ageing for one or two years, which gives it an impressive structure and extraordinary aromatic purity.
