Description
What kind of wine it is
Fanova Primitivo Gioia del Colle, produced by Terrecarsiche 1939, is a vibrant Apulian red that fully expresses the character of the Primitivo grape. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby colour, introducing a deep bouquet characterised by notes of blackberry, morello cherry and plum, enriched by lively spicy nuances. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, with a full-bodied structure capable of balancing the dark fruit notes with a long and satisfying persistence.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in the Murgia area, between the towns of Castellana Grotte and Acquaviva delle Fonti. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 300 and 350 metres, rooted in characteristic karst soil. This specific soil composition gives the wine a remarkable backbone and a strong identity. The favourable hilly conditions ensure the optimal development of the grape clusters, guaranteeing a rich flavour profile and a deep territorial expressiveness.
How it is produced
Cultivation follows the Apulian bush vine system, with a low yield to best concentrate the qualities of the fruit. After the harvest, which takes place at the end of August, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about fifteen days, encouraging ideal aromatic extraction. The wine then matures for three months in French oak barrels, consolidating its structure. This careful ageing process gives the tasting a perfect balance.

Ours is a family tradition born in Castellana Grotte - south-east from the city of Bari - and rooted in Puglia, but with a strong commitment towards expanding across the national and international territory. Nestled in the fertile countryside, characterized by a climate that is conducive to making quality wines, our winery operates in the karst lands of the Murge territory, since 1939.
The gradual renewal that has occurred in recent years, the installation of innovative systems for monitoring grapes, and the aging of the finished product, are only the first steps of a company that is preparing itself for future challenges.
Today, Terrecarsiche1939 produces wines with Protected Geographical Indications (IGT) from Gioia del Colle and the Itria Valley, also overlooking the area of Castel del Monte, mainly emphasizing the autochthonous vineyards of Puglia that are by now very well-known. Read more
