Description
What kind of wine it is
Terrecarsiche1939 Primitivo Fanova Riserva is a still red wine that expresses the essence of the Primitivo grape variety. Produced in the area of Gioia del Colle, it presents an intense red colour enhanced by garnet reflections. On the nose, it reveals a rich and complex bouquet, with notes of black cherry, blackberry and jammy fruit. The aromatic profile is enriched by sweet spices, light hints of leather and nuances of vanilla. On the palate, it stands out for its full and structured sip, offering a deep balance supported by soft tannins and a pleasant freshness, finishing with a persistent and enveloping finish.
Where it comes from
It originates in the area of Gioia del Colle, in Apulia, specifically in the vineyards located in Castellana Grotte. The vines grow between 300 and 350 metres above sea level, following the traditional Apulian bush vine training system. The karst and clay-based soils give the grapes a natural savouriness and promote harmony in the flavour profile. Produced by Terrecarsiche1939, a historic winery in the area, this red takes its name from the famous Fanove festival, a genuine tribute to the local agricultural roots and the area's winemaking vocation.
How it is produced
Production begins in September with a careful manual harvest, maintaining low yields to ensure a high aromatic concentration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for fifteen days. Subsequently, the wine matures for twelve months in French oak barrels, acquiring elegance and structure, before completing its evolution with bottle ageing. Served at 18–20°C, preferably after an hour's decanting, it enhances pairings with red meats, grilled cuts, roast pork and mature or spicy cheeses.

Ours is a family tradition born in Castellana Grotte - south-east from the city of Bari - and rooted in Puglia, but with a strong commitment towards expanding across the national and international territory. Nestled in the fertile countryside, characterized by a climate that is conducive to making quality wines, our winery operates in the karst lands of the Murge territory, since 1939.
The gradual renewal that has occurred in recent years, the installation of innovative systems for monitoring grapes, and the aging of the finished product, are only the first steps of a company that is preparing itself for future challenges.
Today, Terrecarsiche1939 produces wines with Protected Geographical Indications (IGT) from Gioia del Colle and the Itria Valley, also overlooking the area of Castel del Monte, mainly emphasizing the autochthonous vineyards of Puglia that are by now very well-known. Read more
