Description
What kind of wine it is
Tenuta Viglione UP Passione is a red wine from Apulia, created from a blend of Primitivo and Uva di Troia grapes that have undergone a light drying process. In the glass, it reveals a garnet red hue with violet reflections. The bouquet offers jammy notes, sweet spices and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, characterised by an intense flavour of dried fruit and a harmonious finish. Excellent with braised meats and semi-mature cheeses, it expresses its best after about an hour of decanting.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the Murge area, in the territory of Santeramo in Colle. The vines grow at four hundred and fifty metres above sea level, benefitting from excellent south-west exposure. Trained using the spurred cordon method, the plants sink their roots into a stony soil with a limestone base. This specific geological formation, together with the climatic conditions, gives the wine its natural structure and a pleasant softness, offering a faithful expression of the territory.
How it is produced
The production of this organic wine begins at the end of September with the harvest, followed by the aromatic concentration of the bunches. Vinification and fermentation take place in steel tanks to maintain a clean and controlled profile. Ageing is divided between large barrels and steel tanks, an essential step to balance the fruity intensity and structural complexity, ensuring a rounded sip without weighing down the drink.
History and Curiosities
