Description
What kind of wine it is
Tenuta Regaleali Guarnaccio Perricone is a still red wine that expresses the authenticity of the Perricone grape variety, produced by Tasca d’Almerita in the Sicilian region. In the glass, it displays a ruby red colour with delicate garnet highlights. On the nose, it develops an intense aromatic profile, where elegant hints of spices and dried flowers blend harmoniously with pronounced morello cherry notes. On the palate, it is full and structured, characterised by soft tannins balanced by a marked freshness, resulting in a pleasant and enveloping sip.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the historic San Lucio vineyard at Tenuta Regaleali, located in the heart of the island. The vines grow at around 480 metres above sea level, benefiting from a south-eastern exposure that ensures consistent and optimal ripening. The deep soil, composed of fine clay and limestone, excellently supports the natural acidity of the fruit. Grown using the espalier system, the Perricone grape variety puts down roots in this specific territory, finding the ideal microclimate to fully develop its distinctive character.
How it is produced
The vinification process begins with fermentation in stainless steel for thirteen days at strictly controlled temperatures. Subsequently, the wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation, an essential step in defining its structural roundness. Ageing continues for about twelve months in French oak barrels from Allier and Tronçais, used for the second and third time to ensure a measured and delicate contribution from the wood. This careful management results in a harmonious and satisfying profile, ideal for pairing with mature cheeses and roasted meats.

The Tasca family is internationally recognized for its pioneering role in modern Sicilian winemaking. Since 2001, Tasca d’Almerita has pursued a project focused on enhancing native grape varieties in the island’s most vocated territories. Alongside Regaleali—the historic estate spanning approximately 500 hectares—new estates have been added: Capofaro on the island of Salina, Tascante on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, Whitaker on the island of Mozia, and Sallier de La Tour in the Monreale DOC.
In 2019, Tasca d’Almerita was named "European Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast magazine. In 2021, it became one of only 24 wineries worldwide to be awarded the prestigious "Green Emblem" for sustainability by Robert Parker – Wine Advocate. Since March 2023, already a Benefit Corporation, it has earned the esteemed international B Corp certification, joining a select group of companies committed to the highest standards of social and environmental sustainability. In 2025, Tasca d’Almerita received the "Historic Brand" recognition and was officially registered in the Special Register of Historic Brands of National Interest by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
