Description
What kind of wine it is
Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico Riserva by Frescobaldi is a still red wine that embodies the authentic character of Tuscany. This blend of Sangiovese and Merlot stands out for its bright ruby colour with violet highlights. On the nose, the bouquet is intense, with floral hints of violet and dog rose intertwined with notes of blackcurrant and blueberry. On the palate, the structure is supported by dense and silky tannins, offering a fresh and enveloping sip. Balsamic sensations combine with spicy notes of nutmeg, black pepper and cocoa powder, finishing in a harmonious finale with hints of fine tobacco and leather.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico. The vineyards are located in a natural amphitheatre at five hundred metres above sea level, with a privileged south-west exposure. The steep slopes and stony, limestone-rich soils provide the ideal environment for balanced ripening. These pedoclimatic conditions are reflected in the glass, ensuring excellent aromatic definition and that pronounced freshness and verticality of flavour that define its unique identity.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest accompanied by a rigorous selection of bunches. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with constant interventions to optimise polyphenolic extraction. Prolonged maceration helps to define the wine's solid structure. Ageing continues for twenty-four months in Slavonian oak barrels, a crucial phase that enriches its aromatic complexity before the final resting period, ensuring deep evolution and a perfectly integrated tannic texture.
