Description
What kind of wine it is
Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico presents itself as an elegant and structured still red wine, crafted by Frescobaldi. Made from Sangiovese grapes, it reveals a brilliant violet colour in the glass, heralding a complex aromatic profile. Floral notes intertwine with intense fruity hints of blackberry, raspberry and cherry, enriched by balsamic nuances of eucalyptus and thyme, mineral undertones of graphite and a touch of pink pepper. On the palate, the tannic texture typical of Chianti Classico caresses the mouth, leaving it clean and fresh, before closing with a persistent and intense finish with hints of walnut husk.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in Tuscany, in the renowned area of Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena. The vineyards of Tenuta Perano benefit from a position five hundred metres above sea level, a high altitude crucial for supporting the late ripening of Sangiovese. The south and south-west exposure and the arrangement on steep, stony slopes ensure constant sunlight, allowing the grapes to absorb warmth. From these unique soil and climate conditions comes a red wine capable of expressing intense aromatics and a solid structure, a true reflection of its terroir.
How it is produced
The vinification of Sangiovese for Chianti Classico involves twenty-four months of ageing, divided between oak barrels and stainless steel. This technique shapes the aromatic evolution, ensuring a firm balance between fruity and mineral notes. With an ageing potential in the cellar of up to ten years, the wine reveals its character best after an hour of decanting. Served at a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees, it is an ideal pairing for rich meat ragù, game and boards of mature cheeses.
