Description
What kind of wine it is
Tenuta I Fauri Pecorino is a still white wine that captures the essence of Abruzzo Pecorino. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow colour with slight golden highlights. On the nose, it opens with a complex aromatic sequence of yellow peach, chamomile and orange blossom, enriched by notes of Golden apple, gooseberry and fresh hazelnut, set against a clear mineral background and nuances of aromatic herbs such as sage and thyme. On the palate, it offers a soft, lingering fruitiness, balanced by a distinct savouriness and a vibrant citrus freshness. It is ideal to enjoy young, elegantly accompanying white meats, cheese selections and fried fish dishes.
Where it comes from
The Pecorino grapes grow among the Maiella hills, in the southern part of Abruzzo. The area stretches towards the coast, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate where warmth and constant sea breezes promote healthy vines and balanced ripening of the grapes. The vineyards are cultivated both with pergola and spurred cordon systems, managed sustainably to minimise interventions in the field. The roots sink into rich clay and limestone soil, a key element in giving the wine its typical expressive clarity and distinctive savoury structure.
How it is produced
The winemaking process involves a gentle pressing of the grapes and static decantation of the must. Fermentation at a controlled temperature is essential to preserve the integrity of the varietal aromas. Maturation in stainless steel tanks keeps the wine's natural liveliness intact until bottling. The winery uses a functional structure where renovated concrete tanks are used alongside modern equipment and wooden barrels, following a production philosophy focused on environmental sustainability.
History and Curiosities
Amidst the hills of the Maiella, the organic Pecorino of Tenuta I Fauri is born, an authentic expression of a clay and limestone terroir caressed by sea breezes. The young siblings leading the winery combine rural wisdom with modern technologies, working in full respect of nature. After a gentle pressing, this white wine undergoes maturation in steel, which preserves its intense freshness and lively citrus persistence. Ideal to enjoy young or to let evolve over time, its pronounced savouriness pairs perfectly with cheeses and fried fish.

The children work with him, after they studied enology, they chose to continue the family business, that they have always heard and seen doing as youngest. Luigi deals with the wine production, with a great seriousness and Valentina deals with communication, with simplicity and power of ideas. They have given to their wines the sensibility from being pianists: it all comes back, that's the beauty, even years of solfège are useful. Read more
