Description
What kind of wine it is
Tenuta Fertuna Toscana Rosso Pactio is a still red wine that expresses the soul of Tuscany through a harmonious blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It presents an intense ruby red colour, revealing a fruity bouquet enriched with elegant hints of vanilla. On the palate, it is open and expressive, characterised by well-balanced tannins and notes of ripe cherry. Decanting for about an hour enhances its structure, making it the ideal companion for game, elaborate meat dishes and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This red is born in the heart of the Maremma, in the municipality of Gavorrano, within the valley situated between Vetulonia and Giuncarico. The area gives the wine aromatic intensity and clear fruit, distinctive traits of the blend. The vineyards are managed using organic and sustainable practices, with a drip irrigation system fed by an artificial lake. This approach ensures an excellent raw material, capable of faithfully reflecting the agricultural landscape of its origin.
How it is produced
The production of Tenuta Fertuna Toscana Rosso Pactio is overseen by oenologist Paolo Rivella in a technologically advanced winery. Ageing takes place for four months in Allier barrels, mostly new, which impart the typical spicy and vanilla notes to the wine. The production cycle ends with a short rest in the bottle before release. This process refines the flavour profile, harmonising the fruity component and offering a clean and linear sip.
History and Curiosities
Born in 1997 in the heart of the Maremma region of Tuscany, Pactio celebrates Tenuta Fertuna's love for its land. The label depicts Janus, symbolising a historic alliance capable of combining ancient tradition with the vision of a technologically advanced winery. Cultivated over 50 hectares between Vetulonia and Giuncarico according to strict organic and sustainable practices, the vines benefit from careful drip irrigation that enhances the quality of the grapes, creating a perfect bridge between environmental respect and excellence.

This aura of mystery suggested the name Fertuna that, with its elements, reveals itself as an holder of concrete messages close to reality: first of all the consonance with the word "fortuna", which sounds like a good wish, even if its ancient etymological meaning refers to the favorable configuration of a place. Secondly, the theme fert, from Latin fertus, means fertile.
About 50 hectares are used for the production of a variety of specific grapes in order to obtain high quality wines. This surface could be enlarged for further 50 hectares. All vineyards are endowed with a drop by drop irrigation system, nourished by a big artificial lake of about 15.000 sqm, that collects its waters from local sources. An hyper technological cellar placed at the centre of vineyards, shows the project of this estate. The structure made by laminated wood is the best example of modern technology that doesn't forget tradition, recalled by the barriques wood typical of wine history.
A great consignment holds the recent and high technological fleet of farm cars, that is used for all the modern manufactures and is well integrated with insiders' skills. The surface covered is of about 3.600 sqm.
