Description
What kind of wine is it
Tenuta di Carleone Uno is a still red wine that embodies the authentic character of Tuscany, made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes. In the glass, it stands out for its elegant garnet red colour, hinting at an aromatic profile reminiscent of fresh stone fruit, blackberries and black pepper, enriched by delicate floral and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and medium-bodied, supported by a fine tannic structure and a pleasant juiciness. Its balanced structure leads to a persistent finish with a silky texture, features that ensure an extraordinary ageing potential.
Where does it come from
This wine is born in the heart of Tuscany, in the municipality of Radda in Chianti, a region renowned for its natural vocation for viticulture. The estate covers around one hundred hectares among wooded hills, small streams and fertile plains, where the vineyards occupy the most favourable positions. The grapes come partly from historic vines, some of which are over sixty years old. This unique combination of soils and microclimate gives the wine a pronounced territorial character, enhancing its freshness and guaranteeing an extraordinary tannic finesse.
How is it produced
The vinification process begins with fermentation in cement and open-top vats, accompanied by a prolonged maceration on the skins for forty to sixty days. Ageing lasts for eighteen months, divided between steel, cement and a small portion in new French oak barrels. This approach preserves the aromatic integrity and purity of the fruit. To fully appreciate its character, it is recommended to serve the wine at a temperature between 14 and 16 degrees, decanting it for about an hour. At the table, it pairs perfectly with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
