Description
What kind of wine it is
Scarzello Langhe Nebbiolo is a still red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Langhe region. It appears a ruby red colour, which hints at a bouquet marked by distinct red fruit aromas. On the palate, it offers a rounded and balanced sip, elegantly expressing the varietal characteristics. Its structure makes it ideal for pairing with meat and game dishes, cheeses, and pork-based preparations, especially if served between 14 and 16°C after decanting for about an hour.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the heart of Piedmont, within the renowned Langhe area. It is produced by Scarzello, a family-run winery founded in 1947. Under the guidance of oenologist Federico Scarzello, grapes from estate-owned vineyards are cultivated to enhance the local landscape’s vocation, ensuring strong recognisability. Thanks to the climate and soil nature, the wine has an excellent capacity to evolve in the cellar for a period between five and ten years.
How it is produced
The cellar process begins with long macerations in contact with the skins, a step aimed at ensuring delicate and precise extraction. Afterwards, the wine continues its development through careful ageing in wooden barrels. This process allows the aromatic components to integrate, balancing the structure with a pleasant smoothness. The technical approach enhances the raw material, offering an expression of good complexity that preserves the grape’s identity.
