Description
What kind of wine it is
Vermentino di Santa Cristina is a fresh and fragrant white wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica status, produced from Vermentino grapes grown in Tuscany. The use of stainless steel tanks preserves its intact aromatic profile, characterised by a balanced body and a pleasant savouriness. On the nose, there are notes of pineapple and grapefruit, accompanied by hints of rose petals and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is harmonious, taut and clean, with a mineral finish and a persistent citrusy aftertaste.
Where it comes from
The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in the Bolgheri and coastal Maremma areas. Proximity to the sea plays a fundamental role, giving the wine a vibrant character. The vines grow on soils made up of fluvial and lacustrine deposits, rich in sand, clay and a calcareous component that imparts a clear mineral imprint to the sip. Santa Cristina carefully manages each plot to enhance the purity of the fruit and the expression of the regional climate.
How it is produced
Production begins with destemming and gentle pressing of the grapes. The must is cooled to ten degrees to encourage natural clarification and preserve the integrity of the aromas. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, never exceeding seventeen degrees. Before release, the wine undergoes careful maturation in steel at a low temperature, thus maintaining its natural freshness and aromatic liveliness.
