Description

What kind of wine it is

Santa Cristina Umbria Bianco, produced by Santa Cristina, is a still white wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica from Umbria, vinified in stainless steel to preserve its freshness. In the glass, it appears straw yellow, revealing lively fruity and floral notes of pear, pineapple, and orange blossom on the nose. The palate shows a balanced character and remarkable freshness, combined with a pleasant softness. The sip finishes with a fruity aftertaste in perfect harmony with the initial aromas.

Where it comes from

This white wine reflects the authenticity of Umbria, an Italian region deeply dedicated to viticulture. Produced by Santa Cristina, this wine is part of a solid winemaking journey that began in 1946 and has grown steadily over time. The desire to enhance the territory of Umbria guides every choice in the winery, aiming for an immediately enjoyable profile. Attention to the peculiarities of the local soils ensures a harmonious result, delivering in the glass all the aromatic clarity typical of the brand.

How it is produced

The process begins with the separate management of the grapes according to their ripening times. After destemming and gentle pressing, the must is cooled to ten degrees to encourage natural clarification. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, not exceeding seventeen degrees. The wine rests at low temperatures until the final blend is created, thus maintaining its pronounced freshness on the palate.

History and Curiosities

The first vintage bearing the Santa Cristina name dates back to 1946, marking the beginning of a prestigious tradition that today makes this Bianco Umbria IGT a solid point of reference. Under the guidance of expert oenologists Filippo Bezzi and Fabrizio Balzi, the estate continues its unwavering commitment to quality excellence. The grapes are carefully vinified separately, using gentle pressing. Thanks to a rigorous fermentation in steel at 17°C and storage at low temperatures, the wine retains the typical freshness and elegance that characterise the 2025 vintage.
