Description

What kind of wine it is

Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut is a bright and elegant Champagne, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Produced using the Traditional Method, it stands out for its lively and persistent perlage, which enhances its freshness and smoothness on the palate. The aromatic profile opens with clear notes of ripe citrus fruits, juicy pear and white peach, enriched by delicate hints of white flowers and subtle spicy nuances of ginger and pink pepper. Tasting reveals a perfect harmony between tension and roundness, finishing with a delicate mineral trace. Excellent as an aperitif, it should be served at 6–8 °C and pairs well with sea bass tartare, seafood and shellfish.

Where it comes from

This Champagne originates near Reims. The grapes come mainly from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, with contributions from the Sézannais and the Vallée de la Vesle. The combination of these renowned areas allows for the creation of a harmonious blend, completed by reserve wines that ensure consistency and depth of flavour over time. The nature of the chalky soils typical of these regions gives the wine its unmistakable character. Thanks to this particular geology, the Chardonnay develops its characteristic aromatic freshness, ensuring a vibrant sip and a clean mineral finish.

How it is produced

After the manual harvest, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and undergoes malolactic fermentation. The secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle in full accordance with the Traditional Method, followed by ageing on the lees for two or three years. This prolonged period is essential to give the wine an enveloping texture and ensure the persistence of the perlage. At the end of the maturation, the Champagne achieves its structural balance, expressing the purity of the Chardonnay accompanied by a vibrant freshness.

History and Curiosities

Born from the tradition of Maison Ruinart, founded in 1729, this Blanc de Blancs masterfully blends grapes from 25-30 crus and fine reserve wines to ensure perfect harmony over time. Ageing for 2-3 years on the lees gives it an outstanding sensory profile, acclaimed by the most authoritative international critics. The recyclable Second Skin case, nine times lighter and resistant to humidity, protects the bottle from light while reducing carbon emissions by 60%.
