Description
What kind of wine it is
The Argeo Brut sparkling wine by Ruggeri faithfully interprets the character of Prosecco di Treviso. This Brut sparkling wine is created from a carefully crafted blend of Glera, Perera and Verdiso grapes, revealing a clear aromatic profile. The glass displays a fine and persistent perlage, releasing pleasant aromas of yellow apple, white flowers and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is fresh and fruity, with a lively acidity that leads to a harmonious citrus finish, ideal for accompanying oysters, sushi or light dishes.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the northern area of Treviso, embracing the hills of Valdobbiadene. The vines are rooted in clay-rich, well-drained soils located on the first Dolomite foothills. The unique position between the Dolomites and the Adriatic Sea ensures a mild climate, while the valuable temperature variations enhance the development of aromas. This environment guarantees the grapes a constant mineral supply and gives the wine a distinct aromatic quality supported by natural freshness.
How it is produced
Ruggeri's production process begins with a manual harvest carried out in September. After white vinification at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, the secondary fermentation takes place using the Martinotti method. This slow re-fermentation in pressurised tanks at low temperatures, which can last several months, preserves the fruit's aromatic purity. The rapid final bottling ensures a fresh and balanced drink, maintaining the original elegant liveliness.

Ruggeri’s roots stretch far back to the nineteenth century, to Eliseo Bisol, who, along with his son Luigi was one of the first winemakers in Valdobbiadene. The business’s significant growth began in 1950 when Giustino Bisol founded the current winery with his cousin, and it was his surname, Ruggeri, that was chosen as the company name. The unswerving commitment to excellence continued with the work of Giustino’s son, Paolo, and granddaughter Isabella.
Since 2017, Ruggeri has been part of the Rotkäppchen-Mumm Group, a highly fruitful partnership which has paired our shared visions, trust in common values and a mutual commitment to ever higher quality standards. Read more
