Description
What kind of wine it is
Rocche Costamagna Langhe Rosato is a still rosé made from Nebbiolo grapes, a true expression of the Langhe. With its bright onion skin colour, it embodies a taut and elegant style, favouring aromatic clarity. The nose reveals a delicate profile with notes of rose and wild strawberry, hints of pink grapefruit, rhubarb and a touch of liquorice. On the palate, it is smooth, led by a citrusy entry and lively acidity. The tasting finishes with a subtle final spiciness, accompanying a savoury and clean sip.
Where it comes from
The grapes ripen in La Morra, in the renowned Langhe area, famous for its aptitude for producing wines of remarkable finesse. The continental climate, characterised by cool nights, is crucial for preserving the primary aromas of the grapes. The vines sink their roots into calcareous and clay soils that provide structure and a delicate mineral touch. The Rocche Costamagna estate, founded in 1841, vinifies in carefully restored Napoleonic cellars, a testament to its deep connection with the land.
How it is produced
After manual harvesting, the bunches undergo a gentle pressing and a brief skin contact to extract the delicate pink hue. Temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity of the fruit and ensuring a fresh and clean drink. Its vibrant freshness makes it excellent as an aperitif, pairing perfectly with grilled fish, ceviche and fresh cheeses.
