Description
What kind of wine it is
Robert Denogent Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Vers Cras is a still white wine with a bright straw-yellow colour and golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals aromas of white fruit and citrus, enriched by mineral nuances and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, the Chardonnay stands out for its freshness and elegant structure, finishing with a long persistence. It pairs perfectly with shellfish, baked fish or vegetarian dishes, and is also ideal for accompanying flavourful cheeses such as Comté.
Where it comes from
This white originates in Burgundy, within the renowned Pouilly-Fuissé area. It comes from the Vers Cras climat, classified as Premier Cru, and is produced by Robert Denogent, a family estate now run by Nicolas and Antoine. The grapes come from old vines over forty years old, which are essential for giving the wine density and depth. The deep connection with the land translates into excellent ageing potential, estimated between five and ten years.
How it is produced
Organic management aims to preserve the purity of the raw material. Fermentation starts spontaneously thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts, without the use of oenological additives. This is followed by a prolonged maturation of thirty-two months on fine lees, a technical choice that gives the wine complexity and structure. To maintain its organoleptic integrity, the product is not filtered. A serving temperature between 10 and 12 degrees is recommended.

Jean-Jacques Robert, Andrée's son, takes over the reins in 1989. The estate changes its name and becomes Robert-Denogent in homage to his ancestors. Jean-Jacques continues in the same vein, always a gourmand and eager to share his wines with his friends. He gradually increases the surface area of vines.
Nicolas, the eldest son, returns to the estate in 2006. He does more than support his father by bringing his vision of wine. Antoine, Nicolas' brother, joined the estate in 2012. In 2015, Jean-Jacques passed the baton... while remaining close to his sons. Read more
