Description

What kind of wine it is

Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Les Reisses is an organic white wine that expresses the most authentic soul of Burgundy. Made from Chardonnay grapes, it presents a bright golden yellow colour enriched with greenish highlights. The bouquet is complex, ranging from ripe fruit to citrus, with elegant hints of white flowers and a pronounced mineral note. On the palate, the Chardonnay stands out for its dynamic freshness, finishing with a long and savoury finish of remarkable persistence. This profile makes it the ideal companion for shellfish, grilled fish and mature cheeses, served at an optimal temperature between 10 and 12°C.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in the commune of Fuissé, within the renowned region of Burgundy, in the Premier Cru Les Reisses parcel. The Robert Denogent winery, a family-run estate that preserves historic vineyards, cultivates the land with an approach aimed at enhancing the terroir. The agronomic management strictly follows the principles of organic farming, respecting natural cycles and biodiversity. The prestige of the Premier Cru guarantees superior quality grapes, resulting in a wine with a pronounced personality and great stylistic precision.

How it is produced

Production is inspired by the principles of natural winemaking, with spontaneous fermentations carried out by indigenous yeasts. To preserve the density and richness of the fruit, the wine is not clarified and is bottled without filtration. A key element is the prolonged ageing of 32 months, necessary to stabilise the aromatic profile and achieve perfect taste harmony. Thanks to this production philosophy, a pure interpretation of Chardonnay and the soil is obtained, capable of standing the test of time with an ageing potential of up to ten years.

History and Curiosities

Rooted in Fuissé since the early twentieth century, the Robert Denogent estate pursues a traditional and sustainable winemaking philosophy. This Chardonnay reflects the most authentic soul of Burgundy thanks to a natural vinification process carried out exclusively with indigenous yeasts. The esteemed Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Les Reisses 2022 is enhanced by a meticulous 32-month maturation and is bottled without filtration, offering a sip of extraordinary elegance and complexity.

From this winery
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Denogent family, originally from Fuissé, started the wine business. Andrée Robert, née Ddenogent, grandmother of Antoine and Nicolas, owns 5 ha of vines. Although the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation has not yet been declared, she knows that the terroirs have potential and that by respecting these generous soils and this wonderful Chardonnay, the wines produced will be exceptional.

Jean-Jacques Robert, Andrée's son, takes over the reins in 1989. The estate changes its name and becomes Robert-Denogent in homage to his ancestors. Jean-Jacques continues in the same vein, always a gourmand and eager to share his wines with his friends. He gradually increases the surface area of vines.

Nicolas, the eldest son, returns to the estate in 2006. He does more than support his father by bringing his vision of wine. Antoine, Nicolas' brother, joined the estate in 2012. In 2015, Jean-Jacques passed the baton... while remaining close to his sons.
