Description

What type of wine it is

The Macon Village Les Sardines Longue Elevage by Robert Denogent is an organic white wine that expresses the essence of Burgundy. It presents a bright straw yellow colour with golden highlights. The bouquet offers notes of white peach and ripe citrus fruits, combined with hints of brioche and white flowers. On the palate, the wine reveals a chalky texture, resulting in a taut and saline profile while maintaining a vibrant creaminess, with a persistent finish showing iodine notes.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Burgundy, in the Mâcon-Villages area. The Robert Denogent winery operates in Fuissé, a terroir capable of instilling great complexity in wines. The organic approach enhances the link with the territory of origin, ensuring a faithful expression of the landscape. The production choice steers the style towards a white wine of structure and longevity, capable of delivering all the energy and mineral vocation of this specific geographical area into the glass.

How it is produced

Production follows an artisanal approach, based on spontaneous fermentation and indigenous yeasts. The wine undergoes long ageing for thirty months on the fine lees, essential for developing a broad palate and a vibrant creaminess. Robert Denogent completes the process without fining or filtration, preserving the essence of the material and ensuring the excellent gustatory tension that characterises this white wine.

From this winery
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Denogent family, originally from Fuissé, started the wine business. Andrée Robert, née Ddenogent, grandmother of Antoine and Nicolas, owns 5 ha of vines. Although the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation has not yet been declared, she knows that the terroirs have potential and that by respecting these generous soils and this wonderful Chardonnay, the wines produced will be exceptional.

Jean-Jacques Robert, Andrée's son, takes over the reins in 1989. The estate changes its name and becomes Robert-Denogent in homage to his ancestors. Jean-Jacques continues in the same vein, always a gourmand and eager to share his wines with his friends. He gradually increases the surface area of vines.

Nicolas, the eldest son, returns to the estate in 2006. He does more than support his father by bringing his vision of wine. Antoine, Nicolas' brother, joined the estate in 2012. In 2015, Jean-Jacques passed the baton... while remaining close to his sons.
