Description
Type of wine
Robert Denogent's Macon Village Les Sardines is an organic white wine that expresses the authentic soul of Burgundy. Produced in the Mâcon-Villages region, this wine is born from an artisanal philosophy based on the use of indigenous yeasts, which promotes a spontaneous and pure aromatic development. Vinified without added sulphites, it offers a fresh, taut and vibrantly elegant sip. The absence of fining and filtration preserves its natural texture, defining a profound and distinctly territorial tasting experience.
Origin
The grapes come from Burgundy, within the Mâcon-Villages area. Robert Denogent's vineyards are situated on soils that shape its character: most of the vines are rooted in clay-limestone soils, ideal for providing structure, while a smaller portion grows on a silty matrix that gives softness and smoothness. This precise geological combination yields a clear flavour profile and a pleasant sensation of balance, faithfully reflecting the identity of its terroir.
How it is produced
The vinification respects the integrity of the raw materials through a process carried out without the use of sulphites. A central step is the long ageing on fine lees for at least two winters, conducted in different vessels to layer the complexity of the blend. Part of the wine rests in wood, in barrels of various sizes, while the remaining part matures between stainless steel or enamelled tanks and egg-shaped concrete containers. The exclusion of filtration ensures a dense, textural and persistent drink.

Jean-Jacques Robert, Andrée's son, takes over the reins in 1989. The estate changes its name and becomes Robert-Denogent in homage to his ancestors. Jean-Jacques continues in the same vein, always a gourmand and eager to share his wines with his friends. He gradually increases the surface area of vines.
Nicolas, the eldest son, returns to the estate in 2006. He does more than support his father by bringing his vision of wine. Antoine, Nicolas' brother, joined the estate in 2012. In 2015, Jean-Jacques passed the baton... while remaining close to his sons. Read more
