Description

Wine style

Ritterhof's Lenz Bianco is a still white wine with a fresh and elegant profile, an authentic expression of the South Tyrol region and the Vigneti delle Dolomiti denomination. It is created as a harmonious blend of white grapes, skilfully combining Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, and Yellow Muscat, aged in steel to enhance a crisp fragrance of apple blossoms, citrus fruits, meadow herbs, and hints of ripe tropical fruit. On the palate, it reveals a juicy and rounded mouthful, guided by a lively acidity that supports its light body. The tasting concludes with a persistent finish, enriched by a delicate and well-balanced hint of bitterness.

Origin

This wine comes to life among the sunny hills of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, within the territory of the Vigneti delle Dolomiti denomination. The vines take root in clayey and gravelly soils, at an altitude between 250 and 450 metres. The characteristic alpine climate of this mountain ecosystem is ideal for the development of white grape varieties. These territorial conditions give the grapes a distinct aromatic liveliness, ensuring a perfect balance between structure and a pleasantly vibrant freshness in the glass.

Production

The production process involves a strict separate vinification for each variety from the moment they enter the Ritterhof winery. After a short maceration, the grapes undergo soft pressing, followed by clarification of the must. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and a constant 20 °C. The maturation phase continues exclusively in steel, a specific technical choice designed to enhance olfactory purity and preserve the flavour definition of the original fruit.

History and curiosities

The Ritterhof Lenz Bianco is a true ode to spring, a meaning encapsulated in its very name.
