Description

What kind of wine it is

Riondo Valpolicella Superiore is a still red wine with an elegant profile, made from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. On the nose, it is rich, with aromas of ripe wild berries and cherry intertwined with delicate notes of dried fruit, liquorice and fresh balsamic hints of eucalyptus. On the palate, it offers a medium body and a velvety tannic texture that envelops the sip with softness, finishing with a pleasant bitter nuance.

Where it comes from

This Valpolicella Superiore originates in Veneto, among the hills of Monteforte d’Alpone, in an area with a long-standing tradition located in the province of Verona. The term Superiore identifies wines characterised by a balanced structure. The Riondo winery interprets the identity of the Veronese terroir through a biological and sustainable approach, aimed at enhancing natural resources. This dedication results in a dry-profile wine, ready to be enjoyed immediately but with significant ageing potential, capable of evolving positively for up to fifteen years.

How it is produced

Production begins with a partial drying of the grapes, carried out in environments with controlled humidity and temperature. Fermentation takes place using the Ganimede system, which constantly stirs the must to encourage optimal extraction of colour and tannins. The wine then matures for twelve months between stainless steel and large oak barrels, a technique that preserves the integrity of the fruit while maintaining great expressive clarity. For ideal tasting, it is recommended to decant the wine for an hour and serve it at 16-18 °C, paired with grilled red meats, first courses with rich sauces and mature cheeses.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 2008, Riondo skilfully combines the ancient Venetian tradition with the most modern innovations. This elegant Valpolicella Superiore DOC, organic and sustainable, is produced in Monteforte d’Alpone from carefully semi-dried grapes before vinification. Fermentation uses the advanced Ganimede system to maximise the extraction of aromas and colour, followed by twelve months of ageing in steel and large oak barrels, which gives the wine velvety tannins and a harmonious, balanced body.
