Description

What kind of wine it is

Quintarelli Bianco Secco is a Venetian wine created from a blend that combines Chardonnay, Garganega, Sauvignon and Trebbiano. In the glass, it displays a clear straw yellow colour enlivened by golden highlights. The bouquet offers delicate aromas of ripe fruit, with notes of apricot and hints of yellow-fleshed peach standing out. On the palate, it is very pleasant, supported by a balanced acidity that leads the sip towards a long aromatic persistence.

Where it comes from

This oenological expression comes to life on the hills of Negrar, in Valpolicella. Here, the Quintarelli winery operates in an authentic rural landscape, following rigorous methods since the early twentieth century. The vines grow at an altitude of around 350 metres above sea level, a condition that positively influences the freshness of the wine. This hillside position allows for the harvesting of ripe grapes while maintaining a never aggressive acidity, the ideal basis for creating structured white wines with a clear territorial identity.

How it is produced

The vinification of Quintarelli Bianco Secco is distinguished by careful and prolonged maturation. The wine rests slowly in large wooden barrels, then completes its ageing process in the bottle. This technique encourages a complex aromatic evolution and solid stability over time. At the table, its harmonious finish makes it ideal for accompanying first courses of pasta and lean fish recipes. Served at a temperature between 8 and 10°C, it also pairs excellently with cheese selections.

History and Curiosities

The Quintarelli Bianco Secco 2024 embodies the dedication of a historic winery, active since 1900 on the hills of Negrar, in Valpolicella. Born from vineyards situated at around 350 metres above sea level, this excellent Veneto IGT stands out for its patient and unmistakable artisanal process. Elegance in the glass is ensured by a rare method for its type: the wine is aged for eight years in large wooden barrels and, subsequently, in the bottle. This long wait gives the sip a pleasant aromatic persistence, celebrating the family's craftsmanship.

The company is located in the foothills of Negrar approximately 350 meters above sea level. The landscape is typical of Valpolicella with its vineyards, olive groves and cherry trees, an air almost of another era, a rurality that was in danger of being lost, but thanks to people like 'El Bepi' it has been preserved. His grandson Francesco said that the wines are still made the way his grandfather made them by ageing and maturing them slowly for eight years in large wooden barrels and in bottles. Read more
