Description
What kind of wine it is
The Riesling from Pojer e Sandri is a still, dry white wine that faithfully represents the Trentino denomination. On the nose, it opens with hints of peach and apricot which, over time, evolve towards tertiary notes of hydrocarbons. On the palate, it offers a vertical and savoury sip, characterised by a vibrant acidity and well-integrated minerality. This full and balanced structure, enriched by fermentation in steel and ageing in acacia barrels, makes it an ideal companion for fish dishes, shellfish, white meats and soft cheeses, ensuring a naturally elegant drinkability.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the hillside vineyards of Trentino-Alto Adige, located between the areas of Palai in Faedo and Valbona in Cembra. In Faedo, the vines grow at around 700 metres above sea level on silty-limestone soils of volcanic origin, rich in marl and dolomite, benefiting from the refreshing breezes of Lake Garda. In Valbona, at around 450 metres, the roots sink into sandy glacial soils characterised by an abundant stony skeleton. This complex geological matrix and the mountainous altitudes give the grapes an extraordinary gustatory tension and a fresh, precise profile.
How it is produced
The production process begins with cooling the grapes, followed by careful washing of the bunches to ensure maximum integrity of the raw material. Pressing in a controlled atmosphere preserves the aromatic profile of the Riesling, limiting oxidation without the use of additives. After low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures on the lees for about six months in small acacia barrels, a technique that enriches the body of the wine and ensures a rigorous aromatic purity.
History and Curiosities
Founded in Faedo in 1972, the Pojer e Sandri winery has brought new prestige to Trentino oenology by combining scientific rigour with environmental sustainability. This pioneering establishment enhances the purity of the grape variety while safeguarding the integrity of every bunch. Thanks to the innovative cold washing of the grapes and meticulous pressing in a controlled atmosphere, the delicate varietal aromas are preserved intact. Ageing on the lees in small acacia barrels enriches the structure of this award-winning wine.

Faedo 1998: We are already starting to show our thirst for innovation: we are among the first at a national level to market Chardonnay, which until then was practically unknown.
Faedo 2002: We patent the reduction and press vinification with nitrogen recovery, which drastically reduces the use of sulphites. We then begin to wash the grapes through the grape jacuzzi.
The arrival of Marianna, Matteo, Fiamma, Elisa and Federico has brought further life and energy to this dream in which passion and innovation are the keystone.
Faedo 2013: The Zero Infinito project is born: Zero chemical treatments in the countryside, Zero sulphur dioxide, Zero commercial yeasts, Zero clarifying agents, Zero filtrations, Zero antioxidants. Read more
