Description
What kind of wine is it
Etna Bianco Archineri by Pietradolce is a Sicilian white wine with Denomination of Controlled Origin, a pure expression of the volcanic character of the Carricante grape variety. To the eye, it appears straw yellow in colour, enhanced by bright greenish reflections. The bouquet offers delicate floral nuances of white rose, lily of the valley and jasmine, enriched by notes of pineapple and Sicilian citron that blend with distinctive iodised echoes. On the palate, the entry is soft, supported by a gentle, lively freshness and savouriness which, thanks to maturation in steel, leads to a persistent finish of elegant citrus and saline sensations.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from Contrada Caselle, in the municipality of Milo, on the eastern slope of Etna. The vineyards are situated at 850 metres above sea level on a volcanic sandy-loam soil rich in stones. The vines are cultivated using the traditional pre-phylloxera bush-trained system, with historic plants reaching 130-150 years of age. This extraordinary longevity ensures a naturally limited yield, imparting a pronounced gustatory tension and the typical saline imprint of the area to the wine, while preserving extremely clear and concentrated aromas.
How is it produced
Production respects the vocation of the grapes, starting with manual harvesting carried out in the second ten days of October. After gentle pressing to delicately extract the must, vinification and maturation in steel preserve the aromatic purity and integrity of the grape variety. The process concludes with a period of rest to harmonise all the components. This technical care ensures the wine has remarkable drinkability, balancing the initial roundness with a vibrant, savoury and very clean finish.
